Anyone out there made soy candles?
Okay, I’m feeling a bit adventurous lately and wanting to make “things”. My next adventure is soy candles. I love a great smelling candle but dag-gon-it they are so expensive. I’m trying to figure out the most economical way to make candles yet not feel like they are more trouble than they are worth.
So, help a sister out.
Anyone out there made soy candles? Advice? Please?
I hate to go into things blind but the crafty side is about to burst if I don’t make something.

You can purchase soy flakes online at many locations. Here’s one to start your research http://www.zionsvillecandlecompany.com/5lbwax.html or sometimes at Micheals or other “crafty” shops. Melt the soy in the microwave in a glass measuring cup. I take old candle jars and ‘melt’ out the left over candle bits and reuse the jars for new candles. Add the melted soy and some fragrance and a wick and there ya go!

Thanks! I’ll be sure to check it out. I’m thinking that making candles instead of buying them will pan out to save money. I just needed a boost to get going so, thanks!
